Casting removal

Individual castings, which are mainly those made of tough materials, are removed from the runner system by cutting off.

Higher carbon content castings are separated in a vibrator. By means of vibration, and a notch in the gate, there is fatigue build up and the casting breaks off.

If there is any ceramic residue left in holes or cavities, it’s cleared with a lye solution.
